Youth Leadership Application & Commitment
Eligibility
- Students of Sophmores, Juniors and Seniors standing (during the program)
- Minimum of 2.0 GPA
- Completion of the Youth Leadership application
- From all public and private schools in: Dilworth Glyndon Felton, Fargo, Moorhead, West Fargo, Barnesville. If you are a student from a school not listed, please call Camille at 218.359.0512 or e-mail cweber@fmwfchamber.com.
Credit
Students residing in North Dakota may receive academic credit for their participation in this program. Schools will be notified of student’s participation in this program prior to the start of the school year and student will be registered for appropriate course and credit.
Attendance
Five full day sessions are held on regular school days. Attendance at all seven sessions is required unless excused by your school principal. Students are allowed one unexcused absence, and are expected to make up all missed session work. Students are expected to plan ahead for missed school work.
Commitment
In addition to the 60 hours of session time students will be expected to dedicate 10 to 15 hours outside of session time to the completion of the program.
These expectations are as follows:
- Orientation- 3 hours
- Personal Mission Homework-2 hours
- Additional Volunteer Service- 4 hours
Application Process
The application deadline for the 2011-2012 school year has been extended to June 15, 2011. Upon acceptance the student is responsible for a $50 program fee to be paid at the August orientation session.
When will I be notified?
Students will be notified by mail if they are accepted by June 30, 2011.
