The Young Professionals Network is launching a monthly event for members to grow their networks and business contacts, meet new people, and explore relevant topics and issues facing young professionals. Networking to Business (N2B) lunches will be held the third Tuesday of each month from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. These events will feature a brief presentation by an active member of the Young Professionals Network, followed by lunch, socializing and making business contacts.
Tuesday, February 21 – Hear from Matthew De Vries, Edward Jones Investments, as he brings it back to basics on investing. Nowadays, are we better off hiding our "investment dollars" under a mattress or in a bank savings account rather than in our 401k or IRA? What will the market look like over the next 10, 20 or even 30 years? Do investments and retirement planning bore you or make no sense when you look at all the details and options available? Maybe the problem is that the basics and current environment have not been explained in a way that makes sense to the everyday person. This is your chance to learn about investing without being sold an investment or a product.
