Social Media Icons Added to Virtual Expo
October 26th, 2011 by chamberSocial media is constantly growing. Here at The Chamber, we often get calls about how businesses can use free online location services to promote their businesses. In order to make the Virtual Expo the best possible marketing tool it can be, we have added three of these location based services to our social networking icons in Virtual Expo booths.
www.manta.com
Manta helps small businesses profit, connect and grow through the largest online community dedicated entirely to small business. Millions of people come to Manta each day to buy from, partner with and connect to companies. By joining Manta, small businesses easily harness the power of the Internet.
Google Places
When you do a search on Google, Google places is one of the top results which gives you the full company name, address, phone number and a map. For free, a business owner can claim their Google place and add a ton of information about themselves, in essence creating a free web site for their business.
www.yelp.com
Yelp was founded in 2004 to help people find local businesses. This site is great when you are traveling. You tell your smart phone where you are and what you want. The list appears and gives you price ranges, star-ratings, customer reviews, coupons, etc. As of August 2011, more than 63 million people visited Yelp in the past 30 days. Overall, Yelpers have written over 21 million local reviews.
Have another social media network that you’d like to incorporate into your Virtual Expo booth? Let us know. As always, we’re here to make the Virtual Expo valuable to you.
