"Beginning as a remote post on the prairie, I think you learn to dream, collaborate and create. Fargo Moorhead's symphony is over 75 years old, our three universitites all have very strong art programs that add so much to our community, and then there's our performing art school at Bluestem Center for the Arts that is just a jewel. I have friends who left and came back because of our quality of life and the impact they can have on the community. Our cultural scene is robust and dynamic. People often think the grass is greener- I like to fertilize the side I'm on."
Karen Stoker; Hotel Donaldson, as quoted in Marianne Coms' MPR News article "The HoDo- a hotel for art lovers", published November 23, 2010.
