Five area state parks provide year-round outdoor recreation activities within a short driving distance of Fargo Moorhead. Most state parks provide camping, swimming, boating/canoeing, fishing and hiking/biking/snowmobile trails.

North Dakota Horse Park The North Dakota Horse Park is co-located with the NDSU Equine Sciences Program and sits on over 110 acres along the northern edge of Fargo, North Dakota. The Horse Park has racetime stabling capacity for over 450 horses!

Red River Zoo A 20-acre zoo, features 80 species from around the world, including many animals that are rarely seen, such as Tanuki and Pallas Cats. While strolling through the park, don't miss a magical ride on a fully-restored 1928 carousel.
