2024 election: Key results in Clay County, Minnesota

Results you should know about
Minnesota Government
Governor Tim Walz will see his second term to completion.
There was a significant shift in the Minnesota House of Representatives, which is now split evenly at 67-67. This hasn’t happened in 27 years, marking a historic moment in state politics.
The Minnesota Senate is now under a slim Democratic majority with a 34-33 split, which will impact future legislation.

Local ballot measures
Dilworth Community Center Vote: Passed
Dilworth residents voted for a sales tax increase to build a new community center. The tax will go up by one-quarter of a cent for 20 years, and the money will be used to create a space for recreational community activities and services.
Moorhead Schools District: Failed
Voters in Moorhead said “no” to a $43 million plan that would have improved schools with curriculum enhancements, better buildings, new technology and updated transportation.
State ballot measures
Constitutional Amendment 1: Passed
The vote renewed a special fund that uses state lottery money to protect Minnesota’s Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund. Since 1988, this fund has helped with over 1,600 projects to keep our air, water and wildlife safe. Voters approved continuing the fund to support projects like Voyageurs Wolf Project, showing strong support for protecting nature.
